McSilly's Adventures 2.0

I'm sure my friends and returning visitors haven't failed to notice the new look on McSilly's Adventures. It took me quite a bit of effort not being really an expert in web design and CSS, but anyway.. here's the result.

Hope you like it.

The idea is to present a better looking blog, that is at the same time easier to read and to navigate.

That picture up there.. I just took it a couple of days ago, in Pantai Cenang, Langkawi, Malaysia.

I thought that apart from being a beautiful pic (just my usual compact camera and no photo-re-touching apart from cropping, nature at its best!) it gives a good idea of my adventures.


A guy (not me though, I was taking the picture) walking on his own on a spectacular sunset. It summaries the feelings behind my adventures.. you might think: that guy is lucky to be there, or you might think: nice setting, but that guy would appreciate it more if was able to share that experience with someone. And as I am travelling alone.. here's where a blog comes handy. More posts are on the way of course, but meanwhile:

How can you help?
Well for a start you can let me know if you like the new look, and even more important, let me know if it doesn't work in your browser (I have some doubts about Internet Explorer). Plenty of space in the comments section below.

Second if you haven't already done so, make sure not to miss any post by subscribing by RSS (ahem, what's RSS again?) or by Email.

Thirdly if you really like my blog make sure to vote for it on BloggersChoiceAwards. I don't expect to win of course, but it would be nice to have some support there. Andrea Di Tonto, 35, born in Italy, spent the last 7 years in Dublin, Ireland, until..one day decided to leave a good job in a well known internet company, good friends, loved people and loved pubs, and travel a bit.

From February '08 until the end of the year I was Flashpacking around the world on my own. Now back in Europe I still try not to settle down too long in one place. Looks like the only cure for the travel bug is to keep travelling.


What am I looking for?

Maybe I felt it was time to do the big trip before settling down somewhere.

Maybe I want to find out if I want to spend the rest of my life in an office or not. Or what could be the possible alternatives.

Maybe I want to find out what I really am and what I really want to do in my life.

Maybe I just want to take a break, enjoy some new places and cultures, some sunshine and good books, and then go back to my "normal" life.

Maybe I just want to clear out these maybes..

About This Blog

Originally designed to simply keep in touch with my friends back home, the blog started quite soon having a wider audience. The whole blog was created and updated on the tiny screen of a netbook, Asus eeePC, hence the graphic quality is not that advanced.

Content-wise though McSilly's Adventures is providing useful travel information, tales of places well and less known, and at the same time still trying to keep that original personal touch that had at the beginning. See it as a good friend of yours travelling around and telling you about it.
